We offer a broad range of consulting services including fitness for service assessments, failure analysis and welding, external loading analysis and training workshops.   

Position Purpose

  • Responsibilities of the Senior Analysis Engineer include developing, initiating, and executing projects on fitness-for-service, stress analysis, geo-hazard, fatigue & life extension studies, regulatory compliance, and fundamental engineering research in oil & gas industry. The Senior Analysis Engineer will be expected to be an expert practitioner of finite element analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to business development efforts

  • Initiate, execute, and close out projects within time and budget

  • Work independently or lead project teams

  • Prepare proposals and research ideas

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations

  • Implement Kiefner guidelines for initiating projects and monitoring progress

  • Represent Kiefner at industry conferences, trade shows, and committees

  • Follow Kiefner QHSE standards

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment for all staff ensuring all Kiefner policies are being followed

Knowledge and Skills

  • 49 CFR parts 192 & 195
  • Engineering codes and standards (incl. ASME, API, BSi)
  • Engineering software packages (ANSYS, ABAQUS, MathCad, Matlab)
  • Pipe-soil interaction
  • Fracture mechanics
  • Root cause and failure analysis
  • Statistical methodologies and their practical application in engineering
  • Ability to work on several assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • MS Office Suite of products
  • Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Kiefner. Exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment

Education and Work Experience

  • Masters of Science or PhD in an engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in design, engineering, analysis, and operation
  • 3+ years in an engineering or consultancy environment
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
  • Occasional visits to field sites will require employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather
  • he noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
  • Must be physically located in Sugar Land, TX
